These beautiful windows are made up of three windows that extend from the exterior walls of the building. Your average bay window is usually made up of a single large window, which is stationary, along with a casement window on either side.
Apart from ventilation and letting in that beautiful, natural light, these windows also offer additional seating. The interior ledge of this window is often used for several purposes including as a reading nook, a place to relax, and even for storage.
Bay windows are often compared to bow windows, but there are some significant differences between the two. One of the main differences being the shape and how the window is angled.
